Piddletrenthide has one of the finest village churches in Dorset with a splendid 15th century tower and gruesome gargoyles. The south doorway and piers of the chancel arch are Norman.  Cerne Abbas, overseen by the legendary Cerne Giant lies a short drive away and the county town of Dorchester is around 8 miles away and has a great combination of shopping, historical and visitor attractions.  Around a 30 minute drive away is the coast at Weymouth which boasts a long and sandy beach along with traditional beach entertainments such as donkey rides and Punch and Judy.
